OK I’ll add the Lehigh Pub on E. Fourth Street. in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to my list of places that suck so badly that I’ll NEVER go there. Turns out that this low-life dump provided bad service to a group of people. Then it taked on an 18% “gratuity” to the bill. It’s a small wonder that Yelp only gave this ptomaine palace 1.5 stars.

According to one patron:

You can’t give us terrible, terrible service and expect a tip.

The patrons had to find their own napkins and cutlery while their waitress caught a smoke, had to ask the bar for soda refills, and had to wait over an hour for salad and wings. The pub accepted payment of less than the bill then called police! To make matters worse the pub overcharged the patrons for the 18%. The “gratuity” was actually closer to 22%. I’m sure it was an honest mistake though.

Yup, Lehigh Pub on E. Fourth Street in Bethlehem, PA. Another of America’s fine establishments I’ll never visit.

Angel Rodriguez is a cop in Puerto Rico. If the allegations regarding his conduct are true hopefully he will be unemployed soon.

Jorge Steven López’s body was found decapitated, dismembered and partially burned in a wooded area near Cayey on Friday, Nov. 13. After the body was discovered Rodriguez allegedly implied that López lifestyle was responsible for his death.

Even if Rodriguez assertion were true, it’s still inappropriate during an ongoing investigation.

I speak no chinese. I read no chinese. I don’t really like chinese food. Yet I like this commercial for some reason. Maybe it’s the abject silliness, or the four minute duration bordering on insanity. I would love to know why the words “God’s Hand” flash on the screen intermittently.

I love stupid criminals. If OJ had been as dumb as the district attorney he’d be in prison. But that’s a separate story.

Now there’s a place you can go to see actual security camera footage and notes from (alleged) bank robbers. OK I wondered the same thing you did. If they have photos and the photos are posted on the internet why aren’t theses guys all in prison now?

Maybe law enforcement is still working on it.

No doubt about it most jobs suck. If work was supposed to be fun wouldn’t they call it something else besides “work?” Think about it. There’s a wide spectrum of things that can be done to manage a bad job or boss besides “sucking it up” and packing it in.

Recently I tried to enlist- army, navy, and air force all turned me down. Said I’m too old. I really wanted to join JAG. No negotiating. No discussing. Just “No.”

The army offered to let me join as a doctor- but it would have to be some special exception because after all- I’m too old.

In contrast the 17-24 year olds in the US are too stupid, too fat, have too many kids or use too many drugs. And of course there’s the don’t ask don’t tell problem…

I don’t feel so bad being turned down. At least I’m not that fat…

I know it’s common practice for fishermen to catch and release their prey. I seems to make them feel superior to an ancient animal with a brain half the size of a pea when they outwit the fish.

Police work, in contrast, is not supposed to be based on the same principle, even if the alleged perpetrator has a fish-sized brain. This woman:

was recently arrested in Cincinnati. She managed to slip out of her handcuffs several times after which the police decided she needed a little electrical “persuasion.” They tazed her. She was later released from jail because of overcrowding.

OK, I’ll bite. Why bother to arrest folks if they can’t keep ‘em. Why not just write them a ticket. Or better yet make them stand in the corner of Cincinnati.

The rather tasteless halloween costume above has caused a kerfuffle at some retailers. Now I’ll admit that I personally object to the costume but I object for different reasons:
First, it’s probably not a good idea to let your kids think it’s “cool” to wear prison clothes. It’s not. Prison sucks. It’s where offenders live.
Second, not all extraterrestrials are imprisoned.
Third, not all aliens are extraterrestrials.
